We are a nonprofit working on

bridging the digital gap and creating a more inclusive society

Our mission is to empower every citizen, regardless of age, gender or background, to become a maker of the digital future.

40%* of the Belgian population are in a vulnerable situation facing the rising digitalisation of society.

*According to Baromètre de l’inclusion numérique 2020, commissioned by King Baudouin Foundation

As digitalisation accelerates and enters every aspect of our lives, those who lack access to technology are finding themselves socially and professionally disadvantaged.

In 2017, BeCentral was born as a grass-roots social venture co-founded by 64 social and technology entrepreneurs. Both a space and a community, it has quickly grown to become the most diverse tech ecosystem in Belgium, enabling more than 425 000 citizens to become makers of the digital future. The BeCentral Foundation extends BeCentral's mission outside its walls.

The Foundation seeks to bridge the digital gap and to develop a more inclusive society where every citizen can benefit from the opportunities of the digital era.

How? By funding, promoting and operating all kinds of programs in Belgium or abroad, provide education on new technologies, scientific and technological research and entrepreneurship.
